FAQ

What does Reckon taste like?

Tart first, flavor second, clean finish. Think dry sparkling lemonade energy but with deep cherry or sun-ripe apricot. Crisp, not syrupy — less than half the sugar of a typical cola.

Is it soda?

Yes — a craft soda made from an old-world recipe. Carbonated, tunnel-pasteurized, shelf-stable, and made in the USA.

What’s in it?

Carbonated water, barley malt extract (barley malt, water, hop), invert sugar, and 2% or less of: fermented barley malt extract, lactic acid, ascorbic acid, carrot concentrate or beta-carotene (color), natural flavors. Contains: wheat. No caffeine. No artificial colors or sweeteners.

How much sugar?

Cherry: 15g and 90 calories per 12oz can. Apricot: 12g and 80 calories. A typical cola runs ~39g. Not too sweet — on purpose.

Is there caffeine?

None.

Every caffeine-free soda is sweet. What else is there?

That gap is the reason Reckon exists. Caffeine-free usually means lemon-lime, root beer, or cream soda — all sweetness-first. Reckon leads with tartness instead: 12–15g of sugar, less than half a typical cola, with acidity doing the work syrup usually does.

Cane sugar or corn syrup?

Neither. Reckon uses invert sugar — real sugar, split so it dissolves clean. What most people are really asking is whether it coats your tongue. It doesn’t. The fifth sip tastes like the first.

Is this a prebiotic or functional soda?

No. No fiber, no prebiotics, no adaptogens, no health pitch. It’s a soda that happens to be tart and not too sweet. If you want a supplement, there are better places to get one.

Is it gluten-free?

No. Reckon is built on a barley malt base and the can declares wheat. If you’re celiac or gluten-sensitive, this isn’t the one — we would rather say so plainly than bury it.

Does the cherry taste like cough syrup?

No. That note comes from artificial cherry flavoring stacked on a lot of sugar. Reckon leads with tartness — lactic acid, declared right on the can — so it reads dry and bright instead of medicinal.

How should I serve it?

Cold — 36–38°F — in a chilled glass, poured at an angle so the carbonation survives. See our serving guide for floats and pairings.

How fast do you ship?

Orders leave our warehouse in 1–2 business days and arrive in 3–5 by US ground. Orders $60+ ship free (that’s 2 packs).

What if my cans arrive damaged?

Email sales@drinkreckon.com with a photo within 30 days and we’ll replace them, no back-and-forth. Because it’s food, we can’t accept returns — but we’ll always make it right.

Do you do wholesale?

Yes — Cleveland-area retail, cafes, and taprooms are our home turf. See the Wholesale page.
